LIPS - SO SOFT AND RADIANT

Minty lip balm

  • 1 tbsp. petroleum jelly
  • 3 drops peppermint oil

Mix the two together and apply to lips as required in place of lip gloss.


NAILS - NOTHING LIKE A SHINING 20!

Cuticle Softener

Rub Vitamin E oil on the cuticles of both hands and feet after a shower and before bedtime.

HAIR - THE CROWNING GLORY

Herbal Shampoo

  • 2 tbsp. catnip
  • 1 tbsp. castille soap
  • ¼ cup boiling water

Place boiling water in a cup and add catnip. Allow steeping for 10 minutes and add castile soap to the cup.

Mix well. Apply entire portion to the hair. Lather well and rinse with cool water.

Leave -in conditioner for dry hair

  • Handful of fresh rosemary
  • Handful of fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup cider vinegar

In a glass jar, drop the rosemary and mint leaves and cover with the cider vinegar. Seal the jar and leave for 2 weeks. Strain the potion. After shampooing pour 1 tablespoon onto dry hair and leave it inside.

Conditioner for oily hair

  • 1 lemon
  • ¼ cup cider vinegar

Wash, slice and de-seed the lemon. Whir in a blender into a smooth pulp. Filter through a muslin. Mix with the cider vinegar. After shampooing, blot hair with a towel and rub the mixture into scalp and leave for 5-10 minutes. Rinse with cool water.

Conditioner for fine hair

  • 2 strips kombu (Japanese seaweed)
  • ¾ cups boiled spring water

Steep kombu in spring water for 30 minutes and remove the seaweed. After shampooing massage the water into hair and rinse well.

Dandruff elixir

  • 4-5 drops tea tree oil
  • 1 tbsp. jojoba oil

In a glass jar with a tight lid, combine the ingredients and shake well. After sectioning wet hair dab the mixture on a clean cotton wad and stroke along the scalp. Wrap hair in a towel and let sit for 2 hours. Work shampoo into hair with a little water to remove oil. Rinse.

Hot Oil hair treatment

  • 3 tbsp. jojoba oil

Warm the jojoba oil and apply it in sections to your hair. Wrap hair in a hot towel and relax for 1 hr. you can shampoo hair or leave it overnight for better results. Follow weekly for healthy and shiny hair.


SKIN - THE BODYS' NATURAL CLOTHING!

Cleanser

  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. soyabean oil
  • 1 ½ tsp. fresh lemon juice

Great for all skin types. Mix all ingredients and place in a sealed container. Store in the refrigerator and use one-teaspoon in the morning and night to cleanse the face.

Mild Face Scrub

  • 2 tbsp. oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp. cornmeal
  • 2 tbsp. wheat germ

Perfect for exfoliating normal to sensitive skin. Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container. Make a paste by adding a splash of warm water to one tablespoon of the mixture. Use once or twice a week. Can be used as a body scrub too.

Strong face scrub

  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • ½ lemon; juiced

Ideal for dry skin. Lather up with soap and mix in the sugar and scrub very gently. Splash with the lemon juice and rinse with cool water. Use only once a week.

Astringent for normal skin

  • ¼ tsp. borax powder
  • 3 tbsp. distilled water
  • 3 tbsp. rose water
  • 1 tbsp. medical alcohol

Dissolve the borax powder in the distilled water and stir well. Add the rose water and the alcohol. Bottle in a container with a tight lid to prevent it from evaporating. Apply to freshly washed face with cotton balls.

Toner for problem skin

  • A few drops of tea tree oil
  • ¼ cup distilled water

The best tonic for combating pimply skin. Mix tea tree oil and water together and store in an airtight container. Shake well before soaking a clean cotton wool ball with the potion and apply to just cleaned skin, only on the blemished areas. This oil is a natural antiseptic and antibiotic. Use after washing skin whenever you have blemishes.

Moisturizer

  • 6 tbsp. jojoba oil
  • 1 tbsp. vitamin E oil
  • 2 tbsp. grated beeswax
  • 1 tbsp. Aloe Vera (direct from the plant)
  • 8 drops sandalwood essential oil
  • 4 drops rose essential oil

In a small bowl, combine jojoba oil, vitamin E oil and beeswax. Place the bowl in a shallow pan of boiling water and heat, stirring occasionally until the beeswax melts. Remove the bowl and allow to cool to room temperature. The mixture will thicken and become cloudy. In a blender combine the aloe vera gel and rose water. Add the cooled oils and blend on high till the mixture is thick and cloudy for about 2 minutes. Add the sandalwood and rose essential oils and blend mixture into a nice colored glass jar. Apply a very small amount a little goes a long way with this softener. Use only in the evenings but if you have very dry skin, use it in the mornings too.

Zit blaster

  • Skin of 1 egg

Carefully remove the skin from an egg's inner shell. Place this membrane on cleansed blemishes overnight. Rinse with cool water. You can use this whenever you have pimples.
